How Every Service Begins
Whatever service you are enquiring about, the process starts the same way. We look at the watch carefully — under magnification and in natural light — and we tell you honestly what we see. From that assessment, a clear picture emerges of what the piece needs and what each option involves.
Nothing is agreed until you have seen the assessment and the costs. Work is then scheduled to allow proper bench time — not squeezed between other jobs. At the end, you receive the watch back alongside a written record of what was done.
The three services below cover the range of work we carry out. If your situation does not fit neatly into one, get in touch and we will talk through what makes sense.
Initial Assessment
Examination under magnification and in natural light. Condition note drafted and shared with you.
Scope and Cost Agreement
Options and costs discussed. Nothing proceeds until you have agreed to the scope in writing or in person.
Scheduled Bench Work
Service carried out in a dedicated time slot. If findings change during work, you are contacted before continuing.
Handover with Documentation
Watch returned with a written service record and, for restoration work, any removed components.
Service 01
Hand & Dial Refresh
Careful attention to hands and dials, including realignment, lume assessment, and gentle cleaning where appropriate. The work preserves original character while improving legibility. Suited to older pieces whose faces have dimmed or shifted. Any proposed change is shown to the owner before it is carried out.

Service 02
Automatic Winding Service
Servicing of self-winding mechanisms that have become sluggish or stopped holding charge. Covers cleaning, lubrication, and rotor checks, with worn parts noted. Ideal for daily automatics that no longer keep running between wears. A short function note confirms the restored winding behaviour after the work is completed.

Service 03
Estate Piece Full Restoration
A patient, well-documented restoration for estate and inherited watches deserving thorough care. Covers a complete strip-down, sympathetic part sourcing, and a detailed record of every stage. Best for sentimental pieces returning to wear. Replaced components are returned alongside a written condition summary.

Our Standards
What Applies to All Services
Secure Piece Storage
Each watch is stored individually in a labelled compartment throughout the service. Pieces are not left on open benches or mixed.
Period-Correct Lubrication
Lubricants are matched to the movement type and age. Modern formulations are not applied to mechanisms that were designed for earlier compounds.
Written Service Records
Every completed service produces a written record in plain English. Findings, work carried out, and any observations for future reference.
Magnification at Every Stage
Loupe and bench microscope used throughout — from initial assessment through cleaning, re-assembly, and final check.
Agreed Costs Only
Final charges reflect only what was authorised. Unexpected findings pause the work pending discussion — they do not automatically generate costs.
Direct Communication
You deal with the people doing the work, not a customer service layer. Questions receive direct answers from the bench team.
