Terms & Conditions

Effective: 1 June 2025  ·  Last updated: 10 June 2025

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following words carry the meanings given below:

  • "Horolume", "we", "us", "our" — refers to Horolume, a watch repair and restoration workshop located at 56 Charoen Krung Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand.
  • "Service" — any watch repair, servicing, or restoration work carried out by Horolume, including Hand & Dial Refresh, Automatic Winding Service, and Estate Piece Full Restoration.
  • "Client", "you", "your" — the individual or entity submitting a watch for service or making use of this website.
  • "Piece" or "Timepiece" — the watch or clock submitted for service.
  • "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any written service confirmation.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a contact enquiry, leaving a timepiece for service, or making use of this website, you confirm that you:

  • are at least 18 years of age;
  • have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
  • accept these Terms and Conditions in full.

If you are acting on behalf of another person or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that party to this Agreement.

3. Services

Horolume provides watch repair and restoration services in Bangkok, Thailand. Current service offerings are described on our Solutions page. Services are subject to availability and our assessment of the timepiece's condition upon receipt.

We reserve the right to decline a service request where the work falls outside our scope, or where proceeding would, in our professional view, pose risk to the piece.

4. Service Process

  1. Enquiry — you contact us by form, phone, or email to describe the piece and the work you require.
  2. Assessment — upon receiving the piece, we conduct an examination and confirm the scope of work and estimated cost.
  3. Approval — no substantive work begins without your written or verbal confirmation. Any proposed change to the piece (replacement of components, dial work, and so on) is communicated to you before being carried out.
  4. Work & Documentation — the agreed service is performed and documented. For Estate Piece Full Restoration, a written condition summary and a record of replaced components are prepared.
  5. Collection & Settlement — the piece is returned on collection, with any removed original parts. Payment is due at this point unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Pricing & Payment

Service prices are listed in Thai Baht (฿) and are subject to change. Prices displayed on the website are indicative starting points. A confirmed quote is provided after assessment of the specific piece.

Payment is due in full upon collection of the timepiece. Accepted payment methods are confirmed at the time of booking. For Estate Piece Full Restoration, a deposit may be requested prior to commencing work; this will be communicated in writing.

If work is declined following assessment and before any substantive work has been carried out, no charge is made. If assessment work has been conducted at the client's specific request, a diagnostic fee may apply and will be disclosed in advance.

Refunds: If we are unable to complete the agreed service for reasons within our control, any deposit paid will be refunded in full. Refunds are not applicable once the service has been completed to the agreed scope.

6. Ownership & Liability for the Piece

By submitting a timepiece, you confirm that you are its owner or have the owner's full authorisation to have the work carried out.

We treat every piece with the care and attention appropriate to fine horology. However, older or estate timepieces may have pre-existing fragilities that become apparent only during service. We will inform you of any such findings before proceeding.

We carry insurance covering timepieces in our care against accidental loss or damage while on our premises. Our liability is limited to the agreed repair value or the piece's assessed market value at the time of intake, whichever is lower.

Uncollected pieces will be held for 90 days beyond the agreed collection date. After that period, storage fees may apply and we will contact you using the details on file.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photographs, layout, and design — is owned by or licensed to Horolume. You may browse the site for personal, non-commercial use. Reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of any content without our prior written permission is not permitted.

8. Disclaimers

The information on this website is provided for general reference. While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that it is complete or free from error at all times. Specific advice about your timepiece will be given directly during the service process.

Our services are provided in good faith, drawing on professional skill and experience. We do not commit to a specific functional outcome for timepieces that have been subject to prior non-authorised work, undisclosed damage, or exceptional wear.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Horolume's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to a service shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for that specific service.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including sentimental loss, loss of use, or loss of profit, except where such loss results from our negligence or wilful misconduct.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Horolume and its staff from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misrepresentation of ownership, or your provision of false or misleading information about the timepiece or its history.

11. Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before substantive work has commenced, without penalty. Once work is underway, withdrawal by the client does not relieve the obligation to pay for work completed up to that point.

Horolume reserves the right to terminate this Agreement and return the piece without service if we discover information that materially changes the scope, risk, or legality of the work.

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith discussion.

If informal resolution is not reached within 30 days, disputes may be referred to mediation or, failing that, to the courts of Bangkok, Thailand, which shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

13. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement — these Terms, together with any written service confirmation, constitute the full agreement between the parties.
  • Severability — if any provision is found unenforceable, it shall be severed, and the remainder of the Terms will continue in full effect.
  • Waiver — failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion does not constitute a waiver for future occasions.
  • Assignment — you may not transfer your rights under this Agreement without our written consent.
  • Notices — formal notices should be sent to [email protected] or by post to our registered address.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services or website following any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated directly where we hold your contact details.
